THIRD CIRCULAR OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
"ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE: PRINCIPLES AND APPLICATIONS" (ESPA2002)

Dear ESPA2002 participants,

As you already know the International Conference "Electronic Structure:
Principles and Applications" will take place next week in Sevilla.
The aim of this last circular is to give you some practical
information about the event.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
The final scientific program is now available at the conference
web page. Also the book of abstracts can be downloaded from that site
(https://www.us.es/dquimfis/espa2002). Nonetheless, a hardcopy will be
provided to the participants at the reception desk.


POSTER PRIZES
In order to stimulate both the scientific and artistic qualities of
the STUDENT presentations, the ESPA2002 Organizing Committee has decided to
award the two best poster presentations among the graduate and Ph.D. students.
A jury composed by three senior scientists will be in charge of the selection.
Each prize consists in a 100 Euro grant and will be communicated at the beginning
of the last session of the meeting.

REACHING THE CONFERENCE AREA (Reina Mercedes Campus)

By plane

A public bus service is available at the airport (EA yelow line in the map).
The frequency is 30 min. (working days) and 60 min. (saturdays
and sundays). The price is fixed: 2.10 Euro and the service starts at
6.15am Sevilla-> Airport and ends at 11.30pm Airport-> Sevilla.
There are several stops in the way. We suggest you to leave the bus at
"Prado de San Sebastian" and there change the bus and take number 34
(in front of the University-Old Tobacco Factory). There are stops near
both "Hernando Colon" and "Los Bermejales" residences.
The conference hall ( A red building named 'Facultad de Biologia,
Servicio de Informatica y Comunicaciones') is located 3 minutes
walking from H. Colon residence and about 10-15 min. from Los Bermejales
(or alternatively you can use bus 34 to reach the faculty place).
One way ticket for a local bus is 0.9 Euro.

Alternatively you can pick a taxi at the airport. An approx. price can be
18-22 Euro.


By train

Bus C1 (Circular 1) can be picked in front of the Santa Justa Station
main entrance. You can leave the bus at "Prado de San Sebastian" and
follow the above indications for people arriving by plane.


By car

If you arrive by car we recommend you to take the ring around the city (SE-30)
and don't leave it until you find the following exit:
-"Avda. de La Raza".

People staying at "Los Bermejales" will find an indication at the first roundabout.
The other people should follow the "Avda. de La Raza" indication and turn right after
the first petrol station.

You can find two maps concerning the bus routes around the conference

WEATHER

Weather forecast (https://www.weather.com/) for next week says
that highest temperature during the day will be around 30 degrees,
partly cloudy and with a low rain probability.


RECEPTION DESK & WELCOME DRINK


The reception desk will be installed on Tuesday 10th at the Colegio
Mayor Hernando Colon and on Wednesday 11th at the conference building.
On Tuesday the desk will be open from 6pm and the whole day on Wednesday.

The inauguration of the Conference will take place at the Hall
("Salon de Actos") of the Colegio Mayor Hernando on Tuesday 10th at 8pm,
and a welcome drink will be offered at 8:30pm in the gardens of the residence.
